VISION
We desire to be a church where discipleship among believers happens regularly, that is benevolent to those who are in need, that practices evangelism in all facets of life, on mission and sending those whom God has called to reach the nations, and where everyone is welcome. Many parts. One body. “Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
COMMUNITY
Community is more than just a place to reside. It is a place to belong, to serve, to love, and to grow. The Church should be a model of what community looks like when it is done right. We would love for you to join our community at First Baptist Hempstead. God is moving here and we want everyone to experience it.
BELIEFS
It is important to know what you believe. We live in a day and age when scripture is being distorted to tickle the ears of listeners. We believe in the inerrancy of scripture and are committed to teaching it faithfully. The Holy Spirit has been moving in power through the words of the Bible for nearly 2,000 years. In addition to what we believe about Scripture, we adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Meet The Staff
Gamaliel Claudio
Director of Hispanic Ministries

Gamaliel (Gama) has served at First Baptist Hempstead since February 2024 as Director of Hispanic Ministries. God called him into ministry by placing a passion in his heart to serve people and giving him a word to confirm that calling.
​
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and previously served as a Liturgy Director, Worship Leader, Pastor, and Director of the Canzion Institute in Puerto Rico.
​
Gamaliel and his wife, Su Marrero, have three children: Nathan, Yirami, and Ainara. His favorite book of the Bible is Romans, and his favorite verse is Romans 12:1: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and watching his kids in their adventures.
