WE EXIST...
TO MAKE DISCIPLES!
VISION
We desire to be a church where discipleship among believers happens regularly, that is benevolent to those who are in need, that practices evangelism in all facets of life, on mission and sending those whom God has called to reach the nations, and where everyone is welcome. Many parts. One body. “Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
COMMUNITY
Community is more than just a place to reside. It is a place to belong, to serve, to love, and to grow. The Church should be a model of what community looks like when it is done right. We would love for you to join our community at First Baptist Hempstead. God is moving here and we want everyone to experience it.
BELIEFS
It is important to know what you believe. We live in a day and age when scripture is being distorted to tickle the ears of listeners. We believe in the inerrancy of scripture and are committed to teaching it faithfully. The Holy Spirit has been moving in power through the words of the Bible for nearly 2,000 years. In addition to what we believe about Scripture, we adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Meet The Staff

Carolyn Smith
Church Administrator

Carolyn Smith has served on staff at First Baptist Hempstead since March 2005. She began as Church Secretary, later became Financial Secretary, and now serves as Church Administrator. Her ministry is marked by a steady commitment to supporting the work of the church and helping its ministries flourish.

Before joining the staff of FBH, Carolyn worked at a Christian junior high and high school, where she was shaped by the example of teachers who lived out their faith daily. When asked to consider serving at FBH, she prayed for God’s guidance and, through her husband’s encouragement, discerned His call to step into ministry.

Carolyn and her husband, Rooster, have been married since 1977 and are blessed with three sons, three daughters-in-law, and ten grandchildren. She enjoys caring for animals on the family farm, gardening, and crafting with her grandchildren. Her favorite verse is Psalm 91:4, a reminder of God’s faithful protection.
