VISION
We desire to be a church where discipleship among believers happens regularly, that is benevolent to those who are in need, that practices evangelism in all facets of life, on mission and sending those whom God has called to reach the nations, and where everyone is welcome. Many parts. One body. “Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
COMMUNITY
Community is more than just a place to reside. It is a place to belong, to serve, to love, and to grow. The Church should be a model of what community looks like when it is done right. We would love for you to join our community at First Baptist Hempstead. God is moving here and we want everyone to experience it.
BELIEFS
It is important to know what you believe. We live in a day and age when scripture is being distorted to tickle the ears of listeners. We believe in the inerrancy of scripture and are committed to teaching it faithfully. The Holy Spirit has been moving in power through the words of the Bible for nearly 2,000 years. In addition to what we believe about Scripture, we adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Meet The Staff
Sheryl Kelley
Director of FBH Kids

Sheryl has served as the Director of FBH Kids at First Baptist Hempstead since April 2019. Her passion for ministry began with music when she started taking piano lessons at age seven and later earned an Elementary Music Education Certification from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She has shared her love of music with many children over the years while also developing a heart for nurturing young families.

Sheryl has faithfully served in the church through teaching and directing children’s programs, including Mother’s Day Out, where she discovered her calling to guide young children in their faith.
Her favorite book of the Bible is Ephesians, and her favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Sheryl hopes every family at FBH feels loved, valued, and encouraged to know Christ.
